Being ill

Being ill

I don't know about anybody else but almost everyone at my school is ill at the moment. This is bad for everyone else because they have to be around these coughing, sneezing people until they also get ill but they usually get it 10 times worse. Today I was sent home from school with a migraine and when I got home I was also sick, but the way I felt with the migraine was that it was never going to stop and this was the second migraine I have had in 2 months so I remember all I was thinking was that even after I get through this one, I will probably get another one. This isn't why I wrote this post though, I wanted to share some of my tips for when you have a migraine in case any of you reading this are like me:

1. Sleep is key - It may not seem possible at the time but go into a dark room close your eyes and imagine that the pain isn't there by thinking of some of your happiest thoughts.

2. Know your symptoms - Sometimes it can take you a while to figure out what symptoms you get on the lead up to having a migraine, but luckily I knew mine after just one. If you are feeling like you might have a migraine coming then look out for some of these symptoms:

-Visual disturbance
- Dizzyness
- Neausea
- A headache (mine is always on just one side of my face)

3. Look for a pattern - After you have had a 2 or 3 migraines then try and remember what happened before you got it and see if the same thing happened before all of them. It may sound strange but also try and remember what food you ate because something you may have eaten could have triggered your migraine.

I hope that you found this helpful, even if it helped just one of you, then it was worth me writing. I promise a slightly cheerier subject next time!
